Big Howdy
A group of campus organizations, local churches and community volunteers who are here to welcome to UTA and to help you as you transition to living in Arlington, Texas. We also try to help you make connections within the community so you can have the best possible educational and personal experience while in Arlington, Texas.
NASA Trip
Interested in seeing space shuttles, hearing an astronaut speak and exploring space? This is the trip for you. Spend the day at NASA learning about the US space program, enjoy an evening of great food while you hear from some of NASA’s finest minds and experience a worship service in a local church. On your way home, stop at Kemah, a boardwalk on the Gulf of Mexico and enjoy the sunshine, carnival rides and cotton candy.
Fall Festival
Americans love to celebrate holidays and we have some interesting traditions. Join us at the Fall Festival for pumpkin carving, apple bobbing and line dancing. Wear your best western attire!
Christmas
Gather together to celebrate Christmas. Songs, decorations, religious celebrations, presents… Americans celebrate Christmas in many ways. We invite you to experience a taste of Christmas at our Christmas Celebration where you will enjoy an amazing dinner, play games, laugh a lot and sing Christmas carols.
Thanksgiving
In America, we celebrate Thanksgiving by joining with family for a traditional meal, parades and games. Come celebrate with us as we eat turkey and dressing with all the fixings, make new friends and enjoy an entertaining program.
Spring Picnic
Blue skies, sunshine, hamburgers and games are what you will experience at the annual spring picnic. There is some healthy competition as we play relay games and you will be fed some awesome American cuisine.
Tejas Spring Break Retreat
Experience a three-day spring break retreat to a camp where students from all over Texas gather to experience fun things about Texas. This includes things like small group time, large group time, horseback riding and canoeing. Meals and two nights in a cabin are included.
Tejas Ranch Day
Spend the day on a Texas Cattle Ranch where there are fun “Texas” activities like archery, fishing, hiking and MORE. Enjoy the wide open space, blue skies and cows. Meals are included.
