About Us
Who We Are
International Students, Inc. (ISI), is a Christian friendship organization promoting friendships between international students and residents of the United States. We function on over 300 college and university campuses, helping students, scholars and their spouses adjust to and enjoy American life and receive a well-rounded picture of this country and its people.
Our History
Since 1953, ISI has been training Americans to meet international students’ needs. These Americans befriend international students and help them adjust to American culture.
Our Mission
International Students, Inc. exists to share Christ’s love with international students and to equip them for effective service in cooperation with the local church and others.
Our Programs
Friendship Partner
Whether you’re a new student coming from another land, or a community partner wanting to share love and learn more about other cultures, the International Friendship Partner Program can make it possible to bring these two together and build relationships.
Home Group
At home group, students will meet new American and international friends. We always eat together, sing American and Christian Songs, or play some great group games to get to know each other. We also offer opportunities to discover the Bible, participate in English discussion groups, and practice English together.
Big Howdy
Big Howdy is a group of campus organizations, local churches and community volunteers who are here to serve students as they transition to life in Arlington, Texas. We also help make connections within the community to allow you to have the best possible educational and personal experience while in Arlington, Texas.
Special Events
ISI offers international students lots of special events and trips during the school year! Including retreats, parties, and outings to different places around Texas. For learn more about specific events see the UTA ISI Calendar!
