WHO IS ISI?
International Students, Inc. (ISI), is a Christian friendship organization promoting friendships between international students and residents of the United States. We function on over 300 college and university campuses, helping students, scholars and their spouses adjust to and enjoy American life and receive a well-rounded picture of this country and its people.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE?
We invite any international student or scholar or spouse who attends or lives near UT Arlington who desires to get to know Americans on a personal level, to make American friends, to contact us. Our programs and activities are open to students of all nationalities and religions.
WHAT TYPE OF THINGS DO WE DO?
In addition to a weekly English discussion group and dinner, we organize trips to local attractions, picnics, pool parties, trips to nature parks, camping trips, retreats, etc. We sponsor events where international students can meet trustworthy American people who want to help them get adjusted to living in America and have some fun in the process. Also if a person has an interest in learning about American culture and/or Christianity we try to help them to understand these things.
WHAT TYPE OF AMERICANS WILL YOU MEET?
ISI volunteers are Americans who want to open their homes and lives to international visitors. These men, women, and families believe that they have been given a unique opportunity to interact with students who will one day become world leaders. What a privilege to have an opportunity to develop relationships which will impact the world through the exchange of ideas and understanding.
In addition to the numerous volunteers and churches that also help international students, International Students Inc. have full time staff who are here to serve your personal, physical, spiritual and other needs as an international student.
